Macon Western Little League 12U Softball Team. That's a lot to write and it's a name that's tedious to say.

Team Georgia has a nicer ring to it. Well that's exactly what the girls from Western will be called this week as they will represent the Peach State in the Southeast Regional Softball Tournament in Warner Robins.

Western claimed the Georgia State Championship with a sweep of Bartow County last week. Next up for the girls is a first-round match up against Florida Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Like any team, the girls are a little bit nervous but even more so about playing in front of their hometown fans.

"I'm super excited but I'm super nervous at the same time because of all the people but we can show off and do our best," said first baseman Emma Hardy.

The team may be nervous heading into the opening round but they are full of confidence. When asked how do they think they'll perform, the girls answered in unison "we're going to win."
