For the second consecutive year, the high school football season in Georgia will kickoff at Mercer University's Five Star Stadium in the Corky Kell Classic.

The same four teams who hit the field for day one of the CKC return to kick off the season Thursday August 17.

Mary Persons will meet Lee County in the first game followed by Houston County and Jones County in the nightcap.

Last season, HOCO defeated Mary Persons 26-14 while Lee County topped Jones County 20-13.

The Thursday slate will be the first two of nine games throughout the weekend. Two games on Friday and five on Saturday are scheduled to be played in the new Mercedes Benz Stadium.

If the stadium is not ready to accommodate the games, the Classic will reach out to local colleges and venues.
