Upson Lee boys win back-to-back 4A state title

The Upson Lee Boys continued to make history on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights knocked off St. Pius X Catholic, 70-54, at Georgia Tech to win their 2nd straight 4A State Championship. They extended their win streak to 63 games with the title victory.

Upson Lee was led by Tavias Fagan with 21 points, Jarrett Adderton had 16 points and Zyrice Scott had 14. Meanwhile, Travon Walker had 11 points and 12 rebounds to go along with five blocks.

Upson Lee trailed by one point at halftime, but held St Pius to just 21 points while shooting just 21 percent from the field in the second half.

"Its very special --especially since I was doing it with my guys that I came up with for a long time," Fagan said. "That's all that matters."

"It was magical," head coach Darrell Lockhart said. "We've had our ups and downs, but we were still able to win ballgames. It's been special. This group of kids is real special, I love them to death."
