FORT VALLEY, Ga. -- The 2017-18 Warner Robins Demons are one step closer to making history as the first state champions in program history. Tonight they beat the Clarke Central Gladiators in the Final Four, 77-57 to advance to the 5A state championship game against Miller Grove on Mar. 8 at the Centreplex in Macon.

The Demons jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, scoring the first basket of the game and holding that lead wire-to-wire in the win tonight.

This was the third trip to the Final Four for the Demons in the last five years, but Warner Robins still does not have a state championship trophy in its trophy case outside the gym.

To put a trophy in that case, Warner Robins has to beat a Miller Grove team that's 22-7 and ranked as the No. 13 team in the state by MaxPreps.

The Demons and Wolverines will tip of at the Centreplex next Thursday at 8:00 p.m.
