Warner Robins boys aiming for 1st State Title
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. -- The Warner Robins Boys are back in the 5A State Championship game, and it was anything but an easy road.
"These last few years have been a uphill battle. Which is good for us. It sharpened us up and made us ready for this point. Hopefully things will work out for us on Thursday and everything comes together," said head coach Jamaal Garman.
The Demons will be playing in their third state championship game in school history, and they are hoping the third time is the right time.
They've been led by a balanced attack all season full of seniors. And each night could be a big game for the right person.
"If we want to win it, we've got to come together. We've been together all summer, so it shouldn't be a problem," said senior Jacolbey Owens.
Warner Robins will battle Miller Groove on Thursday night -- a team full of tradition with 6 titles to their name.
"Everyone knows their history and their past so we have our work cut out for us. If we want to make our first state championship come true, they're in the way. So we definitely need to take advantage of that" Garman said.
This game for the Demons will be right next to home in Macon, and they hope to have a big crowd on Thursday.
"Its going to be live, really live. Its basically a home game just in Macon. Its going to be fun," Owens said.
