Westside holds off Baldwin at home for 81-74 win
MACON, Ga. -- When Westside head coach Josh Grube huddled around his team entering the fourth quarter of Saturday's home game against Baldwin, he had one simple message for them.
"Our goal is to make the final four," Grube said. "Finish this like a playoff game."
His team got the message. Despite a late push from the Braves that cut the Westside lead to three points with just over a minute to play, the Seminoles stayed in control of the game and finished with a 81-74 victory.
Westside's Khavon Moore and Greg Holloway led the Seminoles with 23 points each.
Westside improves to 8-6 on the season with its third straight win, while Baldwin falls to 10-5.
Baldwin initially dominated this game in the first quarter, outscoring Westside 23-16 thanks to some impressive 3-point shooting from Toret Hicks.
But coach Grube's team would make the adjustments for the next three quarters, outscoring the Braves 65-51 the rest of the way.
Westside's next game will be Jan. 9, when they travel to Rutland for a region matchup.
