Houston County soccer's Molnar signs with Wesleyan College
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. -- Marissa Molnar has played all over the field for the Houston County Bears varsity girls soccer team, splitting time between playing mid-field and goalkeeper. Regardless of where she plays on the field, Molnar now knows where she'll be playing for her next four years in college.
Today Molnar signed her letter of intent to play college soccer with Wesleyan College in Macon next year. She says the decision came down to her familiarity with the coaching staff and how close the school is to home.
"Their assistant coach was the coach for my club team, I already was familiar with him," Molnar said. "He wanted me to come and tour the school. When I went, I fell in love with it, I love the envirmoment and everything. I I really got along with their team and I decided that's where I wanted to continue my career."
The Bears are 9-4-3 overall this season, and are in third place in their region with a 2-2 record.
Molnar says she wants to pursue a degree in biology before pursuing a post-graduate degree at a school with a good veterinary program. She hopes to one day be a Zoo veterinarian.
