Jackson leads Windsor into GISA finals
MACON, Ga. -- After getting bounced in the GISA AA semifinals last season, the Windsor Academy Knights would not be denied a trip to the finals for the second year in a row. The Knights knocked off Solid Rock 66-48 thanks to 24 points from Marquise Jackson.
The Lions were a much bigger team than Windsor, but Jackson and the Knights were able to use their athleticism to capitalize on some quick baskets.
"I mean we just pushed it like we do every game," said Jackson. "We didn't change anything. We play the same way every game, and they were too slow and too big to keep up with us."
The Knights won the GISA AA state title in 2015 and lost in the semifinals in 2016. Jackson is happy that he and his teammates get another shot at a state championship.
"It feels good to be back man," said Jackson. "I'm so glad that we got over this and we're back to the championship. It was tough man, I think about that day every day but I'm back in the championship so I have to redeem myself."
Windsor takes on the winner of Furtah Prep and First Presbyterian Christian Saturday afternoon at Hawkins Arena.
