PERRY, GA -- Longtime Perry Assistant Coach TJ Hutchens finally earned the job he's been waiting for.

Tuesday, Hutchens was promoted to head coach of Perry Panthers Baseball replacing Lorne Tucker.

A former Panther himself, Hutchens takes over a program ready to make it to the next level.

The maroon and gold finished 13-18 in 2017 but made an appearance in the GHSA AAAA State Tournament falling to Luella in the opening round.

Perry begins offseason workouts under Hutchens Thursday afternoon.
