Washington County's Braeden Wansley signs with Benedict
SANDERSVILLE, Ga. -- Today Washington County's Braeden Wansley officially signed his letter of intent to play college football next season. The multi-position standout for the Golden Hawks announced he will be playing in Columbia, S.C. for the Benedict Tigers this fall.
He said that the coaches made him feel welcome from the very beginning of his recruitment, and with Benedict being his father Dexter's alma mater, it just felt like home. His father says he's excited to head back to South Carolina to watch his son play in his school colors.
"I've been looking for a van, so I can travel," Dexter Wansley said. "Maybe get a motor home, we can paint it purple and gold (Benedict's colors) and we'll go traveling."
Wansley currently owns a 92.6 cumulative grade point average, and also plays for the Washington County soccer team.
"I know that there are great things in store for him," his mother Belinda said. "We always tell him to keep God first in his life, and with that, he can't fail."
