MACON, GA -- A night after clinching the #1 overall seed for the SPHL Playoffs, the Macon Mayhem ended the regular season in style delivering a 6-3 win over Roanoke on Fan Appreciation Night at the Centreplex.

The Blue Sweaters got the scoring going late in the first period as Jake Trask scored on a one-timer from Matt Summers. Forty seconds later, Daniel Gentzler found Collin MacDonald on a two on one breakaway to give the home team a two-goal lead.

The Mayhem cruised the rest of the way getting goals from Trask, MacDonald, Stephen Pierog, Summers, Chris Joseph and Matt Johnson. Troy Passingham earned his ninth win of the year in net collecting 24 saves on 27 shots faced.

Despite earning the league's regular season title with 80 points, a scheduling conflict forced the Mayhem to play their opening-round-playoff series on the road. The Mayhem will face #8 Columbus on the road Tuesday night as the SPHL playoffs begin.
