Mayhem playing with patience and speed
MACON, GA -- Mayhem was the correct word to describe the match-up nightmare the Kevin Kerr's hockey club gave opponents last season.
With so much skill and fire power, the Mayhem have developed a positive reputation for their style of play.
"Fast," Kerr said. "I think we're going to play fast. I think we're going to play gritty. I believe we have a real fast, skilled team."
Serving as one of the best offensive teams in the SPHL a year ago, the Mayhem endured their bumps in the road. Facing elimination on the road, the Blue Sweaters showed they're not out of a game until the clock hits triple zeros.
"Resilient," said Captain Daniel Gentzler. "We battle a lot. We had a lot of come-from-behind wins. It was something special so I think we're a resilient bunch and I think we're never out of games."
The Mayhem open the season Friday night at home against Pensacola. The team will be presented their championship rings as well as the unveiling of the championship banner.
