Mayhem resign leading-scorer Jake Trask
MACON, GA -- A President's Cup Championship wouldn't have happened for the Macon Mayhem without the services of Jake Trask. The high-scoring wing provided huge postseason goals in the Mayhem's run to the title.
After leading the Blue Sweaters in scoring in both the regular season and playoffs, the team announced Thursday Trask will return for another season.
Head Coach Kevin Kerr said in a statement Thursday, resigning Trask was one of the top priority's of the summer. The Canadian forward tallied 48 points in 50 games with 21 goals.
His goal in Game 2 of the President's Cup Finals clinched the title for the Mayhem over Peoria. In 186 career games, Trask has notched 71 goals with 85 assists.
The Mayhem open the season October 20 at home against Pensacola.
