COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Sometimes in hockey it's just not your night. That seemed to be the case for the Macon Mayhem in game one of their SPHL playoff series against the Columbus Cottonmouths as they fell 1-0.

Despite out-shooting the Cottonmouths by 30 shots, the Mayhem couldn't get the puck past Columbus goalie Mavric Parks as he had 52 saves in the shutout. Jordan Ruby was great in the net for Macon as well, saving 21 shots on 22 attempts.

Stathis Soumelidis led the way for the Mayhem with 10 shots on goal while John Siemer added six shots.

The Mayhem are now one loss away from elimination. Macon and Columbus will play the second game of their series tomorrow in Columbus.
