Mayhem use fast start to handle Ice Bears and regain first place

MACON, Ga. -- Four goals in 10 minutes was the fast start that the Macon Mayhem needed to beat the Knoxville Ice Bears 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.

John Siemer started off the scoring for the Mayhem just two minutes and 50 seconds into the game. Colin MacDonald, Michael Holland, and Stephen Pierog all scored for the Mayhem as well.

The Mayhem now have 68 points this season and hold sole possession of first place in the league standings, one point ahead of Huntsville and two points ahead of Fayetteville.

A battle between the top two teams in the SPHL goes down on Friday when the Mayhem and Havoc go at it in Huntsville.
