Dupree kicks off charity weekend in Middle Georgia
IRWINTON, GA -- Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker Bud Dupree kicked off his second annual First 48 Charity Weekend Friday night at Wilkinson County High School.
The Wilkinson County alum hosted a celebrity basketball game with big name street ballers and members of the Harlem Globetrotters participating.
"It's a great time, great atmosphere man," Dupree said. "Its just a great time and Im grateful that a lot of people are starting to come."
All proceeds from the charity weekend will go to the Children's Hospital Navicent Health in Macon and to two needy families in the Wilkinson County area.
Saturday morning, Dupree is hosting his "Riding 4 a Cause" event at Central City Park in Macon. A fan of ATV's and motorcycles, Dupree will lead a 30-mile ride throughout the Macon area raising money for the families.
