AUGUSTA, GA -- After a lopsided performance from Charley Hoffman on Thursday, the second round at the 2017 Masters got much more interesting on Friday.

Rickie Fowler shot -5 for the day jumping into a four-way tie for first place at -4. Charley Hoffman bogeyed fives holes Friday finishing the day +3 while sharing the lead with Fowler, Thomas Pieters and Sergio Garcia.

The field closed the gap on the leaders as the day concluded. After an abysmal day one, Jordan Spieth pulled even after the second round as did three-time champion Phil Mickelson.

Macon-native Russell Henley made the weekend cut despite shooting four over par on the day.

Round 3 action tees off at 10:20 a.m. Saturday with Jason Day.
