NFL star holds charity motorcycle ride through Macon
MACON, GA -- The second annual First 48 Charity Weekend wrapped up in style Saturday afternoon at Central City Park.
Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker Bud Dupree led more than 200 motorcycles and ATV's through a 30-mile road course in the Macon area beginning at Central City Park.
"I'm excited for everybody who came," Dupree said. "The support is real. Everybody wants to give back."
All proceeds from Saturday's "Riding 4 a Cause" event went directly to the Children's Hospital Navicent Health.
"I had a lot to plan," Dupree said. "Everyone was on board with it because they wanted it to be a successful event."
It's been a busy week for Dupree. After holding his second annual youth football camp last week, the pro and his team put on a top-notch charity weekend for the community.
With the success from Friday night's celebrity basketball game and Saturday's charity ride, Dupree is seeing fruits of his labor.
"Thinking back on everything we didn't think we could make it happen but we put a lot of effort into it and got it done," Dupree said.
