Connect With Luke Hetrick

Luke Hetrick joined the WGXA family in November as the Sports Anchor/MMJ Tuesday through Saturday.

Luke is an Altoona, Pa native and is excited about joining the news team.

Luke comes to Macon after finishing his Master's Degree in Sports Communications and Media from Sacred Heart University where he was named the 2015 Class Salutatorian.

Prior to SHU, Luke earned his Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa.

During his time at Saint Francis and Sacred Heart, Luke held six internship positions which included hosting an ESPN Radio Show in State College, Pa and serving as a broadcaster for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders. He also interned at ONE World Sports, WTNH News 8 in New Haven, CT, and WJAC-TV in Johnstown, Pa.

While receiving his Master's, Luke was the Lead Anchor and Executive Producer of Sports Buzz, a tri-state sports show that aired once a week.

A big-time football and basketball fan, Luke bleeds black and gold for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is a diehard Louisville Cardinals basketball fan and Penn State football junkie. Luke also roots for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Indiana Pacers.

In his free time, Luke loves to cook, exercise, and read. His favorite book is Through My Eyes, the autobiography of Tim Tebow.

Luke can't read a clock but to him it's always Tebow Time!
