Opinion: Ari Fuld is a hero who died defending Israel
An American is dead in Israel. Ari Fuld was a citizen of both the Israel and the United States.
He was stabbed in the back by a Palestinian murderer in the West Bank last weekend.
Despite being mortally wounded, Ari Fuld pursued his attacker and shot him before falling down and succumbing to his own wounds.
Ari Fuld was called a lion of Israel at his funeral. He was only 45.
Ari grew up in Queens, New York and served in the Israeli army before working with Standing Together, an organization that supports Israel Defense Forces. He often delivered care packages to Israeli soldiers and would go on trips to communities near the Gaza Strip to show support for Israelis against the terrorist group Hamas.
I have spoken to you about the Middle East peace process which the Palestinians are refusing to truly engage in.
It is extremely disheartening to see that instead of urging their leaders to come to the negotiating table, some Palestinians are choosing to stab Israelis in the back. In the last three years, over 50 Israelis have been killed in stabbing, shooting, and car-ramming attacks by Palestinians.
Here’s the Bottom Line: Ari Fuld lost his life defending Israel and is a hero. My deepest condolences go to Ari’s wife, four beautiful children and his whole family. If there is to be hope for peace between Israel and the Palestinians, barbaric attacks against Israelis such as this one have to stop.
