Actress Carrie Preston Wins Emmy
Macon native and actress Carrie Preston was nominated and has won an emmy for her work in "The Good Wife".
Preston won the emmy for outstanding guest actress in a drama series. This is Preston's first nomination and first win.
In addition to her recurring guest role on "The Good Wife", Preston recurs on "Person of Interest" and is a series regular on HBO's "True Blood". Preston is also an aspiring filmmaker on her own as she has entered several of her own films into the Macon Film Festival.
Back in 2009, Preston made a personal guest appearance to present her film and answer questions about all her work. In 2012, Preston was unable to attend the festival as she was currently filming scenes for "Person of Interest", but that didn't stop her as Skype was set up and made Preston available to attend a, Q&A.
Terrell Sandefur with Macon's So Chi Gallery and festival organizer for the Macon Film Festival posted on Facebook, "You rock, Carrie Preston! So, so proud of you!"
