James Brown Honored in Macon
He was the "Godfather of Soul".
James Brown died seven years ago Christmas Day.
Each year one of Brown's original dancers has honored the music legend by laying a wreath at the James Brown Bridge in Macon.
Tascha Houston wants Macon residents to remember Brown's connection to the city.
In late 1955, Brown's group the "Famous Flames" went into the studio of Macon radio station WIBB and recorded a demo tape of "Please, Please, Please."
The rest, as they say, is music history.
Brown died in 2006 after a battle with pneumonia and congestive heart failure. He was 73 years old.
