WILCOX COUNTY, Ga. -- A man is dead after a plane crashed in Wilcox County this morning.
Emergency Management Agency Director Larry Brown said the plane hit power lines four miles outside of the City of Pineview and six miles west of Hwy. 257 on Tippetteville Road.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the aircraft was a single-engine Cessna 188. The pilot, who brown identified as 25-year-old Nicholas Frost, was crop-dusting areas near Pineview.
Brown said there weren't any other passengers inside the plane and no other injuries were reported.
The EMA Director added that Frost was from California, was staying in Unadilla, and was planning to fly back to Unadilla after spraying for mosquitoes in Abbeville.
He said it's not currently known if the crash was due to pilot error or a mechanical problem with the plane.
The FAA said it's investigating, and the National Transportation Safety Board will determine the cause.
