CENTERVILLE, Ga. -- Members of the community kicked off their Saturday morning by participating in the 3rd Annual "Glazin a Trail" Donut Run in Centerville.

The event featured a Donut Run 5k, a 1 mile Munchkin Run and a Donut Challenge.

Alison Evans, CEO of The Methodist Home, said all proceeds from the race benefited the kids at The Methodist Home for Children and Youth.

"This event has truly grown and this year we had the highest number of pre-registered runners that we've ever had. The community has embraced us. We love the fact that we run right through a neighborhood because that's what this is about. The Methodist Home wants to work with children and families who are right here in our local neighborhoods," Evans said.

The home provides residential care and support throughout south Georgia for boys and girls who have been abused and neglected.
