ALBANY, Ga. (AP) — Four people have died and four others were injured in a mobile home fire in south Georgia.
Reports are the victims in the Monday evening fire included a 68-year-old woman and three children, ages 1, 2 and 6.
Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler says all four died from smoke inhalation. Four other children were also in the mobile home. Three of them were taken to a burn unit at an Augusta hospital and one was taken to an Albany hospital. The fire started around 7:15 p.m. at the Dunes Mobile Home Park.
Albany Fire Department Investigator Sam Harris says the trailer received "extensive damage" from the fire. Officials say the child death task force is assisting in the investigation.
