Atlanta Motor Speedway opens up campgrounds for hurricane evacuees

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Atlanta Motor Speedway is welcoming Hurricane Florence evacuees into its campsites.

A release from the company says the campgrounds are able to handle "thousands of campers" during annual events and the Legends Campgrounds will be available to dry RV and tent campers free of charge.

The speedway also says that a certain number of campsites with water, power and sewer are available for $20 each night in the Premier Campground.

According to the release, the Rinnai Shower Station will also be open for evacuees to take free hot showers and use the bathroom.

Anyone interested in RV or tent camping in the free Legends Campground should enter the site at the "E" Entrance off of Georgia Highway 19/41. This campsite is located on the right.

The Premier Campground is next to the Legends Campground. Those interested can enter at the main entrance off of Georgia Highway 19/41 and is to the left of the speedway's security post.

Evacuees can find a map of the camping sites here.
