Ben Hill Co. jailer arrested at safety training center for alleged sexual assault
BEN HILL COUNTY, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested 26-year-old Kyle Webb, a Ben Hill County Sheriff's Office jailer, on Wednesday on a felony sexual assault charge.
A GBI release says Webb's charge is in connection to inappropriate contact with an inmate who's currently at the Ben Hill County Jail in Fitzgerald.
On Monday, the sheriff's office asked the GBI to start a criminal investigation into the alleged conduct between Webb and the female inmate. The GBI release says the alleged sexual contact happened on July 7.
Webb was employed as a Ben Hill County jailer for less than six months and was arrested at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth where he was working on a two week jailer class, according to the GBI release.
The release adds that Webb was taken back to the Ben Hill County Jail for arrest booking.
