Bibb Co. deputies investigating after woman's car stripped down, parts stolen

MACON, Ga. -- Bibb County deputies are investigating a theft case after a man reported that someone had stripped down his mother's vehicle and sold the parts.

Deputies say the victim reported leaving the vehicle at a home in the 680 block of Moreland Ave. for about a year because someone said they'd work on it.

About two weeks before Saturday, August 18, the victim told the person supposedly working on the car that they wanted to pick it up, the report says.

When the victim got to the home on Moreland Ave. to get the car, he reportedly found out there were new tenants who claimed the man "had been locked up."

The report says the victim saw the car was still at the house, but was torn apart. All of the doors, trunk, front end of the vehicle, engine, transmission and dash were either missing, stripped down or taken apart, the report says.

Deputies are investigating but no arrests have been made, according to the report. Anyone with information about this can call the sheriff's office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
