Bibb Co. deputies investigating multiple break-ins on one Macon street
MACON, Ga. -- Bibb County deputies are investigating a vehicle break-in and entering auto that happened at separate homes on Vista Circle in Macon on Monday.
A sheriff's report says deputies went to a home on Vista Circle, where the homeowner said someone tried to break into their house between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.
Someone reportedly threw a brick through a back window, but the homeowner's dog alerted her to the activity. The homeowner was able to alert their security system but noticed a missing MacBook air.
Deputies reported that camera footage showed at least one and possibly two suspects near the back porch around 3 .m. They reportedly turned the cameras away but didn't break the glass on the window or enter the home for over two more hours - until after 5 a.m.
According to the report, the suspect(s) also tried to steal a TV from the porch, but weren't able to, and the home's basement door was left open.
In another incident on Vista Circle, a sheriff's report says deputies responded to a different home Monday morning about a vehicle break-in.
The homeowner reportedly said he'd left the doors on his Nissan Altima and Honda Civic unlocked because his vehicles had been broken into before and he didn't want the windows smashed out.
According to the report, the homeowner found the trunks on both cars open that morning, although the suspect(s) only took some loose coins that were in the center console of the Nissan.
Deputies are actively investigating these incidents. Anyone with information can call the sheriff's office at 478-751-7500 or leave an anonymous tip with Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
