UPDATE: Nearly 300 Flint Energies customers still without power after Houston Co. wreck

    Flint Energies crews work to restore power after a wreck caused an outage in Houston County/David Domingue (WGXA)


    HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Flint Energies has reported that about 293 customers are still without power.

    A wreck Thursday evening initially caused about 1,400 customers to experience outages.

    The company says it's working with law enforcement to clear the area so crews can replace the power pole.


    HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. -- A wreck has caused a power outage affecting about 1,400 Flint Energies customers in Houston County.

    There's a heavy presence of Houston County deputies in the area as they continue clearing the wreck.

    Flint Energies said the outage affects the Green St. area and part of Elberta Rd. The company says its crews are at the wreck to check the damage and start repairs.

    It's currently unknown if there are any injuries or what caused the wreck. Check back on this developing story.
