Deputies: Woman, 18, shot in leg in south Macon

Bibb County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting in south Macon Friday morning/Perry Smith (WGXA)

MACON, Ga. - An 18-year-old woman was shot in the leg in south Macon Friday morning, according to Bibb County Sheriff's deputies.

Deputies were called to the corner of Capitol Ave. and Chatham St. around 8:52 a.m.

BSO says according to witnesses statements, a man and a woman were arguing outside of a black Dodge Stratus. While arguing, the man pulled a gun out and shot at the 18-year-old woman.

She received a minor wound to the left leg. No one else was injured during this incident.

The suspect ran from the scene, headed towards Houston Avenue., BSO says. The suspect is a black male. He is approximately 5 feet 7 inches in height and weight around 130 lbs. He's last seen wearing a camouflage jumpsuit.

Investigators are speaking with witnesses and processing the scene in an effort to determine the identity of the suspect.
