'Cold and scared.' Lost kayaker found safe on Flint River

SUMTER COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) - A kayaker lost on the Flint River has been found safe.

In a post on Facebook, Sumter County Fire Rescue says they were called to Reeves Landing about a kayaker who had gone missing on the Flint River. Crews put in their boat at Reeves Landing and worked south while the Drayton Fire Department put their boat in at the Highway 27 bridge and worked north. After about an hour of searching, the lost kayaker was found about two miles south of Reeves Landing. Rescuers say he was cold and scared, but safe.
