MACON, Ga. -- Coliseum Health System is celebrating big changes today.
Piedmont Healthcare previously bought out the hospital system and is unveiling a couple of name changes this morning.
Coliseum Medical Center in downtown Macon will be renamed Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Coliseum Northside is becoming Piedmont Macon North Hospital.
Piedmont Healthcare also acquired hospitals in Cartersville and Snellville -- Eastside Medical Center and Cartersville Medical Center. They also plan on partnering in a joint venture for 12 family and urgent care clinics.
The nonprofit organization consists of 11 hospitals, 35 Piedmont Urgent Care Centers, and 25 QuickCare locations. They employ or work with more than 2,600 physicians in Georgia.
