UPDATE: Late night Macon house fire ruled arson

Crews put out late night Macon house fire on Evergreen Dr./Evan Watson (WGXA)

MACON, Ga. -- Macon-Bibb fire officials have determined a late Wednesday Macon house fire to be an arson.

It happened around 11 p.m. to a vacant home in the 3100 block of Evergreen Drive. No one was injured and no one was in the house when firemen arrived.

Fire officials say there were two separate fires in the house. Fire spread throughout the home, which suffered heavy damage.

One fire was started in a room on the left side of house, and another was set at the backdoor.

Officials say the case is still open and its being actively investigated.
