UPDATE: Man arrested for west Macon shooting, charged with attempt to commit murder

    MACON, Ga. -- The Bibb County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection with a Thursday morning shooting at the Bridgeview Hotel in Macon.

    A release from the sheriff's office said deputies arrested 27-year-old Gregory Bernard Staten, Jr. just before 12 p.m. at a home on Woolfolk St. in east Macon.

    Deputies said they arrested Staten without incident and he's currently at the Bibb County Jail on the charge of criminal attempt to commit murder without bond.

    MACON, Ga. -- The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting incident that reportedly occurred at the Bridgeview Hotel on Harrison Rd. around 6 a.m.

    Deputies say a 31-yea-old Macon man was involved in an altercation with multiple subjects.

    The report states that during the altercation an unknown male pulled a pistol and shot the victim. According to deputies, the victim was struck in the left arm and lower back. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says the victim is in critical condition at the Navicent Health Medical Center.

    According to the report by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, no one else was injured in the incident.
