Deputies: Macon man chases down burglary suspect, gets shotgun back


    MACON, Ga. -- A Macon man alleged that he caught someone stealing a shotgun out of his Jeep on Beverly Place and then chased the suspect down to get it back.

    A Bibb County sheriff's report said the victim told deputies he went outside around 8 a.m. on January 9 and watched a young man leaving his property with the shotgun and a bag of ammunition.

    The victim reportedly ran after the suspect and got his shotgun back, but the man got away with the bag of ammunition.

    According to the report, a vehicle belonging to a victim's family member was also burglarized and had $100 in cash taken out of it.

    The victim reportedly said both vehicles had been left unlocked.

    According to the report, the suspect was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark-colored hoodie and had short hair.
