MACON, Ga.-- A Macon man is now behind bars after Bibb Sheriff's investigators say his plan to rob a Waffle House restaurant fell through early Sunday morning.
Investigators say Jonathan Lamar McBride, 37, went into the Waffle House located in the 4000 block of Pio Nono Avenue just after 4 a.m. and made an order before demanding money from an employee. The employee however wasn't able open the register and that's when investigators say McBride took off from the restaurant.
Deputies put a look-out for McBride's vehicle which was later spotted by the Georgia State Patrol who attempted to do a traffic stop. After a brief vehicle chase, McBride was arrested. He is now charged with criminal attempt to commit a felony.
Investigators are also seeking information about the identity of an additional suspect involved in the incident. Anyone with info is urged to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crime stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
