Deputies: Woman, 58, hit by car crossing street in north Macon


MACON, Ga. -- A 58-year-old woman was hit by a car while walking across a north Macon street Friday morning, according to Bibb County Sheriff'.

BSO says around 7:24 a.m., 58-year-old Regina Mullins of Macon was walking across Arkwright Road from River Place Drive when she was hit by a 2018 Nissan Sentra.

According to BSO, the Nissan Sentra -- driven by a 19-year-old woman -- was attempting to make a right turn onto Arkwright Road from Sheraton Road when Mullins walked into the path of the vehicle.

BSO says witnesses stated the driver of the Nissan had the green light as she was turning onto Arkwright Road. The driver told deputies she didn’t see Mullins as she was walking across Arkwright Road.

Mullins was transported to the Navicent Health by ambulance. She is listed in stable condition.

BSO says no one else was injured during this incident. No charges have been filed.

The accident is still under investigation.
