MACON, Ga. -- Bibb County Sheriff's Investigators are asking for the public's help in a homicide investigation that happed at the parking lot of the Best Western on Riverside Drive.
On November 23 around 11:00 p.m., Investigators discovered that 27-year-old Chauncey Jevon Love II and two other men drove up from Florida, to make a marijuana transaction.
Investigators stated that the individuals who met with Love may also have been from out of town and they are working on identifying and locating these people.
During the transaction, Love was shot by the individuals he was meeting with.
Love attempted to drive away after being shot and his vehicle crossed over Riverside Drive and went into a ditch.
The passengers that were with Love jumped out the vehicle and ran across the interstate. Investigators are continuing to speak with those men.
Love was pronounced deceased at the scene by Coroner Ronnie Miley.
Those who were involved in the shooting of Love fled in two separate vehicles.
One of the vehicles is a dark gray Infiniti and the other vehicle was a silver colored Toyota Camry.
Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in helping identify and locate the individuals driving the Toyota Camry and the Infiniti.
