Early morning shooting in West Bibb leaves two injured, suspect on the run


MACON, Ga. -- The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting at an apartment complex in West Bibb.

Deputies responded to a call of a person shot at West Minister Apartments at 1655 Atwood Drive just after 12:14 Monday morning.

According to a release from the sheriff's office, 25-year-old Justin Howe and 24-year-old Tamarcus Cole, both of Macon, were in the parking lot of the complex when they were approached by a black male.

They say the man fired several shots in to the vehicle they were sitting inside of.

Howe was shot once in the chest and Cole was shot in the right leg before the shooter fled on foot.

Howe was taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health where he is listed in critical condition. Cole is listed in stable condition.

No information on the shooter is available at this time, but the incident is under investigation.
