MACON, Ga. (WGXA) - According to the American Psychological Association, 44 percent of Americans believe their stress levels have increased over the past five years.
The most common stressors are money, work and the economy. Stress can have a big impact on mental and physical health if not addressed properly.
However, not all stress is bad. The director of social services at Coliseum Medical Centers said learning how to know the difference between the two is important.
"It can be motivating to a certain point, but when it gets to being debilitating, that's when it's a very negative thing. It's important to know how to manage that and work that stress out of your life because more is going to come in and replace it," said Don Tillman.
Tillman recommends writing down important tasks to stay on task and using exercise to decompress.
