Family loses everything in Sumter County fire

SUMTER COUNTY, Ga. -- Sumter County Fire and Rescue responded to a residential fire on Hooks Mill Road on January 26 at 4:13 am.

Americus Fire & Emergency Services was also dispatched and aided at the scene.

Reports indicate that the structure was nearly completely involved with fire venting through the roof.

SCFR Engine 11 and Tanker 6 pulled three 2 1/2" lines to suppress that flames from the exterior.

All occupants were reported to be out of the house.
