23-year-old man arrested for fatal shooting at Macon convenience store

BIBB COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) - A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at a Macon convenience store early Saturday morning.

According to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the Quick Serve located at 584 Emery Highway around 1 a.m. on September 16. They arrived to find 23-year-old Jamon Deshon Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound. Jackson was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A second 23-year-old man, identified as Nicktarios Linardo Kinder, had also suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital by personal vehicle. After being treated for his injuries, Kinder was taken into custody by deputies for his connection to Jackson's death.

Kinder has been charged with murder and was also wanted for a probation violation. He is currently being held without bond in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

The shooting occurred inside the Quick Serve, but details about what led up to the incident are still under investigation. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is urging anyone with information to contact them at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.

Jackson was pronounced dead by medical staff at the hospital. The sheriff's office press release stated that his next of kin had been notified. No one else was injured in the shooting.
