Crews fight fire at east Macon home
MACON, Ga. -- Macon-Bibb fire crews responded to a house fire in the 1900 block of Knightsbridge Rd. off of Shurling Dr. just after 1p.m. Tuesday.
According to the home owner Ron Weidner who rents the home out to his tenets, the fire started from a pot of boiling water left on the stove unattended.
Firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof of the home to allow heavy smoke to escape.
Fire investigators arrived on the scene and will further determine the exact cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
