UPDATE: 5 arrested in Macon as officials find stolen guns, marijuana
UPDATE -- THURSDAY (2 P.M.)
MACON, Ga. -- The five people arrested in Macon Wednesday morning were charged on Thursday.
Twayne Jafar Rainey, Jr., Deshafore Deandre Hicks, Timshad Jahard Hughes, Amore Calhoun and Dequavia Benard Pollard are all charged with:
- possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- possession of a firearm during a commission of a felony
- theft by receiving (2 counts Firearm)
MACON, Ga. -- Five people were arrested in Macon Wednesday morning as deputies served a warrant for one man wanted for an armed robbery. The arrests were made after deputies found stolen guns and marijuana in the home.
According to officials, at 11 a.m., US Marshals and Bibb County deputies served warrants on 18-year-old Twayne Jafar Rainey, Jr. for armed robbery and hijacking a vehicle. The warrants stemmed from an incident at the Pendleton Homes on Houston Ave. on March 11.
While serving the warrant at the home on the 3300 block of Flamingo Dr., US Marshals found two stolen firearms and marijuana.
Other people at the home taken into custody were: 20-year-old Deshafore Deandre Hicks; 19-year-old Timshad Jahard Hughes; 19-year-old Amore Calhoun; and 18-year-old Dequavia Benard Pollard.
Investigators found that Hicks and Hughes had been involved in the Overlook Garden aggravated assault and the Pansy Ave. aggravated assault.
Hicks was also found to be involved for the aggravated assault of Travis Lewis on Jan. 1 at the C Mini Mart located at 3380 Houston Ave.
All suspects were taken to the Bibb County Sheriff's Criminal Investigative Division for questioning.
