GBI: Former Fort Valley Police Office arrested on unlawful document charge
FORT VALLEY, Ga. -- The GBI arrested a former Fort Valley Police Officer on Friday for Unlawful Possession of Identification Documents.
The former officer is Vetrimyer “Vet” Miller, 45, of Warner Robins.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says in July 2017 while Miller was detached to the Peach County Drug Unit, he used his position as a police officer to obtain personal identification documents -- specifically motor vehicle registration information -- on a person that was not under criminal investigation.
He unlawfully accessed the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Registration database for personal gain, the GBI says.
Miller voluntarily turned himself in to the Peach County Sheriff’s Office. He was released on his own recognizance after the arrest booking process was completed.
