HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Two teenage girls shot a teen boy during an argument at a home in Perry, Captain Heath Dykes said.
Police went to the home in the 1000 block of Jackson Lane around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. Dykes said officers found the 16-year-old boy alone on the front porch with multiple gunshot wounds.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation also responded to assist in the investigation. Officers searched the area for witnesses and suspects, and discovered two 16-year-old girls were involved in the shooting.
Dykes said police believe the girls got into a fight with the boy, adding that it appeared the shooting happened when one of the girls pulled the boy off of the other girl, took the gun, and shot the boy in self-defense, Dykes said.
Nobody has been charged and the boy was still undergoing surgery at The Medical Center, Navicent Health in Macon late Tuesday night.
Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call detective Ken Ezell at 478-988-2824.
