PULASKI COUNTY, Ga. -- A sinkhole opened Monday morning in Pulaski County on the eastbound lane of US 341/Georgia 27/Golden Isles Parkway.

The area is just east of Hawkinsville and the Ocmulgee River bridges.

Georgia DOT maintenance crews Monday have diverted eastbound traffic to the inside driving lane to allow motorists to go around the sinkhole site.

"By the end of the day Tuesday, the crews should have the sinkhole temporarily filled in and drivers should be back in both proper eastbound lanes," GDOT says. "Engineers are currently working on plans to permanently reinforce and fill the sinkhole."
