MONROE COUNTY, Ga. -- Georgia transportation officials say part of downtown Forsyth will be closed off to vehicles on Friday because of a film shoot.

A Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) press release says Monroe County drivers should avoid downtown Forsyth between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. November 9.

Public traffic will not be allowed through the area "for brief periods during the filming," according to the release.

That area includes:

  • Georgia Highway 18 (Main St.) from Phelps St. to Kimbrell St.
  • Georgia Highway 42 (Lee St.) from Chambers St. to Adams St.

GDOT says motorists need to watch out for signage and cautiously drive through the area during that time frame. The agency advises residents find alternate routes or expect delays and slow down if they choose to travel through downtown.

Residents can call 511, visit, or download the Georgia 511 app to get real-time information on conditions.
