Georgia College partnering with Navicent Baldwin to boost nurse program
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- Nurses are in high-demand across the country -- and especially for hospital's in rural Georgia.
Georgia College is hoping a new addition to their nursing program will help.
Georgia College's school of nursing is now partnering with Navicent Health Baldwin to open a simulation and transitional research center. The center is located at the hospital and allows nursing students to have hands-on practice with simulators, as well as patients.
Georgia College nursing graduate Mary Smith says this will be a great way to bring students along.
"It's also beneficial for the community," she said. "There's a shortage of nurses again. This is a way to advance their skills."
